Study Permits for International Students in Turkey

  • International students, including Egyptians, require a valid student visa (İkamet İzni) to study in Turkey.

  • The student visa is issued by the Turkish consulate in the student's home country.

  • To obtain the student visa, international students must first be accepted and enrolled in a recognized educational institution in Turkey.

  • The educational institution will provide the necessary documentation and support for the student visa application.



Student Visa Application Process

  • 1. Get accepted and enrolled in a recognized educational institution in Turkey.
  • 2. Collect the required documents such as:
    • - Valid passport
    • - Acceptance letter from the educational institution
    • - Proof of financial capability to cover tuition and living expenses
    • - Health insurance coverage
    • - Criminal record certificate
    • - Application forms
  • 3. Submit the student visa application at the nearest Turkish embassy or consulate.
  • 4. Pay the applicable visa application fee.
  • 5. Attend an interview at the embassy/consulate, if required.
  • 6. Wait for visa processing and approval, which can take several weeks.
  • 7. Upon arrival in Turkey, apply for a Residence Permit (İkamet İzni) from the local immigration office.

  • For stays longer than 90 days, international students will need to apply for a Residence Permit in addition to the student visa.
