Study Permits for International Students in Australia

  • International students, including Egyptians, require a valid student visa to study in Australia.

  • The most common student visa subclasses are the Subclass 500 (Student) visa and the Subclass 590 (Student Guardian) visa.

  • To obtain a student visa, international students must first be accepted and enrolled in a registered education provider in Australia.

  • The education provider will issue a Confirmation of Enrolment (COE) document, which is required for the student visa application.

Student Visa Application Process

  • 1. Get accepted and enrolled in a SEVP-certified school or university in the Australia.
  • 2. Collect the required documents such as:
    • - Valid passport
    • - Confirmation of Enrolment (COE) from the education provider
    • - Proof of financial capability to cover tuition and living expenses
    • - English language proficiency test results, if required
    • - Overseas student health cover (OSHC) proof
    • - Application forms
  • 3. Submit the student visa application online through the Department of Home Affairs website.
  • 4. Pay the applicable visa application fee.
  • 5. Provide biometrics (fingerprints and photo) at a designated visa application center, if required.
  • 6. Wait for visa processing and approval, which can take several weeks.
  • 7. Upon arrival in Australia, present the valid student visa to the immigration officer.
